What You Will Learn:
- How to use chicken wire as an eco-friendly alternative to floral foam
- Tips on selecting and preparing flowers and greenery
Materials Needed:
- Chicken Wire: Preferably green PVC coated chicken wire
- Floral Tape: If not available, regular tape can be used
- Floral Shears or Scissors
- Vase or Container: Diameter between 3-5 inches
- Water

Flowers: You will need one bunch of each flower type, which usually comes in 5-10 stems. Flowers can be purchased at Trader Joe's, most local grocery stores, and flower shops.
- Focal Flower: A dozen roses
- Filler Flowers: Spray roses or mini carnations
- Line Flowers for Height: Snapdragons, stock flowers, delphinium, gladiolus, or larkspur
- Greenery: Eucalyptus or ferns
- Additional Flowers: Daisies, mums, alstroemeria, gerbera daisies, or lisianthus

Tips for Choosing a Color Palette for Floral Arrangements
1. Start with a Focal Color
- Favorite Flower: Pick a flower that you love and use its color as the foundation of your palette.
2. Use the Color Wheel
- Complementary Colors: These are colors opposite each other on the color wheel, like purple and yellow. They create a vibrant and striking contrast.
- Analogous Colors: These are colors next to each other on the color wheel, like blue, green, and yellow. They provide a harmonious and cohesive look.
- Monochromatic Scheme: Using different shades and tints of one color can create a sophisticated and elegant arrangement.
